THE INFLUENCE OF SOCIAL MEDIA CONTENT CHARACTERISTICS ON CHINESE GENERATION Z TRAVELERS’ INTENTION TO VISIT THAILAND: THE MEDIATING ROLE OF EMOTION ENGAGEMENT

Abstract
The purpose of this study was to study the influence of social media content on Chinese tourists' intentions to travel to Thailand. To explain the psychological mechanisms behind such relationships, this study collected data from a sample of Generation C travelers. 511 people in Guangzhou People's Republic of China using an online questionnaire. Data analysis uses the partially least quadratic structure equation model (PLS-SEM) method to test research hypotheses. The results showed that the nature of social media content influenced the intention to travel to Thailand. statistically significant, both directly and indirectly, through emotional attachment.
The findings of this study help to broaden our knowledge of social media marketing and travel behavior, highlighting the importance of content and emotional engagement in determining travel destination decisions and through emotional engagement. In addition, the results of the research also found empirical data that is useful for tourism marketers and tourism industry professionals to develop more effective communication strategies through social media.
