The Integrated Digital Learning and Design Thinking to Overcome COVID-19 Challenge in Creative Innovation

Covid-19 is a pandemic that has resulted in the closure of many educational institutions around the world. Digital learning an important role in teaching and learning in the COVID-19 situation, which encourages all learners to have the opportunity to interact with each other through digital technology. But in this difficult situation, learning to innovate requires processes and concepts to be innovative, namely design thinking. To create products and services for application in the education sector, including teaching, learning, curriculum design, and training. The integration of digital learning and design thinking has 5 steps: 1) Empathize, understanding the audience, and understanding problems. 2) Define & Ideate, identify needs and brainstorm, 3) Prototype, 4) Test prototype with the target group, and 5) Critical & Reflection. Key elements include as follows: 1) empathy & user-centeredness, 2) creativity and innovation, 3) prototyping & experimentation, 4) multidisciplinary collaboration. This approach is an opportunity to innovate in challenging the COVID-19 situation.
