Abstract

This research aimed to 1) study the tourist behavior, 2) study the influence of tourism logistics service quality on the efficiency of tourism logistics management and 3) propose guidelines for developing health tourism in Loei Province. This research employed mix-method approach. The sample consisted of 400 tourists who traveled to Loei Province. Data was collected using questionnaires and in-depth interviews.  The key informants comprised 30 individuals, including health service providers, tourism operators, and relevant government officials. Data were analyzed using frequency, mean, standard deviation, and multiple regression. Qualitative data were analyzed using content analysis. The results of the research found that 1) most tourists traveled by private car with their family and friends during the weekends. They enjoyed nature – base tourism, specifically mountains and hills, chose hotels or resorts type accommodations, and had an estimated tourism budget of 3,000-5,000 baht. 2) The logistics factors and the potential for health tourism logistics were found to be at a high level. Specifically, the tourism logistics factors of places and service had an influence on the health tourism logistics potential of Loei Province, explaining 32.6 percent of the variance. 3) The guidelines for the development of logistics for health tourism should focus on enhancing personal skills and potential, improving  transportation and infrastructure, promoting marketing strategies that effectively reached the target group, establishing quality and unique health service standards, and building collaborative networks among government agencies, private sectors and local communities for integrated development of tourist attractions and logistics management in the area, leading  to long-term sustainability.
