Abstract

Eight immortals wind and percussion music of Zhuang in Guangxi, China has a long history and rich tunes, which can be played and sung. It is a bright pearl in the treasure house of Chinese folk wind and percussion music. However, with the acceleration of modernization and the sudden change of external environment, it is faced with dilemma of inheritance and development. This paper analyzes and considers cultural connotation and artistic characteristics of the eight immortals wind and percussion music, as well as factors restricting its inheritance and development, and explores a feasible path for inheritance and development in the new era and new situation.
