Factors Influencing Ethics Promotion in High School Students Rattanathibet School Nonthaburi Province

Abstract
Students, as young individuals, represent vital human resources essential for contributing to the nation's development across multiple dimensions, including the economy, society, politics, and cultural traditions. In contemporary times, there is an increasing need to foster moral and ethical values among the youth. This research aims to: 1) investigate the current challenges in promoting ethical values among high school students at Rattanathibet School, Nonthaburi Province; 2) explore the factors influencing ethical enhancement in these students; and 3) propose strategies for effectively enhancing ethics within this demographic.
The study is structured in two phases are 1) Quantitative research, involving data collection from a sample of 152 high school students, analyzed using descriptive statistics (frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation) and inferential statistics (Pearson Correlation and Multiple Regression Analysis) and 2) Qualitative research, involving in-depth interviews with five administrators and teachers, with data analyzed through content analysis and presented descriptively.
The findings reveal significant concerns regarding ethical promotion. A notable factor is the unsupportive environment, as many students do not live with their parents, and a portion of their families engage in behaviors such as alcohol consumption. Furthermore, 49.3% of the students’ families lack ethical training. Among the ethical values assessed, gratitude ranked highest (x̅ = 4.17), while responsibility, though still at a high level, had the lowest mean (x̅ = 4.00). The study identified that teaching materials, teaching techniques, and family status are significant predictors of moral reinforcement, accounting for 12.6% of the variance. The research concludes with proposed strategies for enhancing ethical education, including the development of teaching techniques, the invitation of expert speakers, and the professional development of ethics teachers.
