Component of Children's Book to Promote Learning about the Identity of Tha Chalom Community

Abstract

This study is qualitative research. The objective is to study the identity of the Tha Chalom community that is appropriate for the learning of early primary school children and to study elements of children's books suitable for the learning of early elementary school children. To present it as an element of a children's book to promote learning about the identity of the Tha Chalom. The researcher has conducted research from documents together with in-depth interviews with Tha Chalom community identity expert, focus group with children's book experts and school administrators, teachers, and early primary school students in Tha Chalom area Using learning factors according to Bandura's cognitive social learning theory as the main basis for the study. Opinions from children's book experts, School administrators, teachers and early elementary school students showed the same result that Children's books can respond to community identity learning factors. The 4 factors are Attention: promoted by the attractive size of the book, book cover, title, page layout, and illustrations. Retention: drawn by meaningful content, engaging storylines, and simple language for easy understanding. Reproduction: promoted by encouraging visualization, story review, and special activities. Motivation: created by Adding reinforcement activities, reading encourage, and reading together activities. As for the content of Tha chalom community identity could be completely included in children's books by reducing the details and categorizing for easy understanding. The 5 aspects of Tha chalom community identity are geography, History, culture, arts and architecture, and tourism.
