Abstract
This academic article Phra Kring of Wat Suthat has aesthetic value in various dimensions. Its artistic value is derived from Khmer art and Thai Buddhist art. It has detailed and proportional Buddha images. It is believed to have the virtue of loving-kindness and safety. Phra King Wat Suthat is considered one of the amulets with a long history and has been valued by Buddhism in each era, reflecting the ideas and beliefs of people in that era. The study found that Phra Kring of Wat Suthat Thepwararam is important in terms of art, culture and beliefs of Thai society through aesthetic concepts and aesthetic aspects in three main aspects: 1) Artistic value, which appears in a beautiful, delicate and refined form, reflecting the craftsmanship of Thai artists in the past. 2) Spiritual and emotional value that creates a sense of peace, coolness and faith through its shape, internal ringing sound and consecration rituals. 3) Historical and cultural value, which reflects the relationship between Phra Kring and the context of Thai society in the past, as well as the continuation of beliefs and the art of faith. This article therefore proposes to view Phra Kring not only as an amulet. But as an art object that has profound aesthetic value and can help to understand the value and beauty of Phra Kring in a dimension that provides knowledge about Thai amulets from the past to the present era to continue to be studied.
