This research aimed to: (1) develop a blended learning model integrated with self-directed learning in the local curriculum of the course Phra Pathom Chedi and the Buddhist Way of Life for upper secondary students at the Non-Formal and Informal Education Centre, Mueang Nakhon Pathom District; (2) examine students’ self-directed learning behaviors in relation to the blended learning outcomes of the aforementioned course; (3) study the learning achievement in the topic History of Phra Pathom Chedi through a blended learning approach combined with self-directed learning; and (4) assess student satisfaction with the blended learning model integrated with self-directed learning in the local curriculum. The study involved 40 upper secondary students selected through simple random sampling. Research instruments included: (1) a structured interview form, (2) a self-directed learning lesson plan, (3) blended learning activities, (4) a knowledge assessment test, and (5) a learning satisfaction questionnaire. Data were analyzed using mean, standard deviation, and dependent t-test.
The findings revealed that: (1) the quality of the blended learning lessons, as evaluated by experts, was rated at a very high level (M = 4.64, S.D. = 0.44), particularly in terms of content (M = 4.67, S.D. = 0.38) and assessment components (M = 4.58, S.D. = 0.57); (2) students demonstrated a very high level of self-directed learning behavior (M = 21.57, S.D. = 1.69), and their post-test scores were significantly higher than pre-test scores at the .01 level of significance (t = 3.957), reflecting the effectiveness of the learning model in enhancing students’ ability to learn independently through online lessons and blended learning activities.
