Abstract

This research aims to study and compare the motivation levels of teachers at Phichai School, Phichai District, Uttaradit Province. The population consisted of 67 teachers from Phichai School during the 2023 academic year. A questionnaire was used as the main tool to collect data on teachers' motivation, focusing on aspects such as responsibility, work achievement, respect, job characteristics, and career advancement. Data analysis included frequency counts, percentages, mean, standard deviation, and content analysis to summarize suggestions for enhancing teachers' motivation. Hypothesis testing used t-tests and ANOVA.

The findings revealed that the motivation levels of teachers were generally high, particularly in terms of responsibility. The career advancement aspect had the lowest average score, indicating a moderate level. Recommendations to enhance motivation included supporting teachers in setting clear goals, allowing them to solve problems independently, praising and rewarding good performance, promoting moral ethics, and recognizing teachers' roles within the educational community. Opportunities for teachers to participate in planning and execution, and fair consideration for career advancement based on performance and capabilities were also suggested. Comparative analysis showed no statistical differences in motivation levels according to gender, age, education level, and work experience, except in work achievement where younger teachers had higher motivation, and in job characteristics where teachers with higher education levels showed greater motivation.
