Abstract
The objectives of this study were to 1) examine the public perception in Nonthaburi towards the Compensation and Expense for the Injured Persons and Defendants in Criminal Cases Act B.E. 2544 (and its amendment (No.2) B.E. 2559). Data were gathered from a sample of 400 Nonthaburi residents through the use of a questionnaire. The data were then analyzed using frequency, percentage and mean, followed by hypothesis testing using t-test and one-way ANOVA with a significance level of 0.05, and 2) propose ways to enhance public awareness regarding the Compensation and Expense for the Injured Persons and Defendants in Criminal Cases Act B.E. 2544 (and its amendment (No.2) B.E. 2559) by interviewing a sample group of three individuals and performing qualitative data analysis.
The results of this study indicated that the majority of respondents were females aged 18 to 25 years, with a bachelor’s degree, and employed in the public sector as government employees. Overall, their awareness level was found to be moderate. The study also revealed that participants with varying educational backgrounds and occupations had significantly different levels of awareness, with a statistical significance level of 0.05. Consequently, relevant agencies should exert effort to raise awareness by taking into account the different target groups through both projects/activities and online platforms.
