บทความวิชาการนี้เป็นการศึกษาอิสระและนำเสนอเรื่องการเลือกตั้งประธานาธิบดีอินเดีย ตั้งแต่การสถาปนาประเทศถึงปัจจุบัน มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อวิเคราะห์สังคมพหุลักษณ์ของอินเดียและปณิธานทางสังคมผ่านตำแหน่งประธานาธิบดี โดยเก็บข้อมูลระดับทุติยภูมิและระดับตติยภูมิ จากหน่วยงานรัฐและสำนักข่าวอินเดีย ผลการศึกษาแสดงให้เห็นถึง (ก) ความสำคัญของการคัดผู้สมัครที่เหมาะสมโดยพรรคการเมืองและพันธมิตร ซึ่งเป็นตัวแปรในการกำหนดหรือไม่ว่าจะส่งเสริมอัตลักษณ์ทางการเมือง (ข) การเลือกของคณะเลือกตั้ง เป็นขั้นตอนตัดสิน มุ่งเป้าตามความโน้มเอียงของพรรค (ค) บริบททางการเมือง สังคม และการเปลี่ยนยุค ส่งผลให้เกิดการปรับสูตรการคัดบุคคลที่มีอัตลักษณ์ทางสังคมตามปรารถนา นี่จึงเป็นการแสดงออกถึงพหุลักษณ์และเอื้อให้อัตลักษณ์ของบุคคลเป็นต้นแบบ เป็นปณิธานทางสังคม และสร้างแรงกระเพื่อมเชิงสร้างสรรค์ ดังนั้น ตำแหน่งประธานาธิบดีอินเดียจึงมีบทบาทสำคัญในการเชิดชูสังคมพหุลักษณ์ เคารพต่อวรรณะ ชาติพันธุ์ และศาสนา โดยเฉพาะกรณีหลัง ค.ศ.2000 เมื่อตำแหน่งประธานาธิบดีได้แสดงออกมากขึ้นและน่ายกย่องกับบทบาททางสังคมวัฒนธรรมในอินเดีย
