แนวทางการดำเนินชีวิตของชนชั้นกลางขึ้นไปในชุมชนเมืองที่สอดคล้องกับปรัชญาของเศรษฐกิจพอเพียงสู่ความมั่นคงของมนุษย์ที่ยั่งยืน

ปัจจุบันทิศทางและแนวทางในการผลักดันเศรษฐกิจพอเพียงให้เกิดขึ้นในกลุ่มชนชั้นกลางขึ้นไปในสังคมเมืองเพื่อส่งเสริมการพัฒนาที่ยั่งยืนและความมั่นคงปลอดภัยทางสังคมที่เท่าเทียมกันอย่างแท้จริง ยังคงจำเป็นต้องสร้างขึ้นให้ชัดเจน ด้วยเหตุนี้เพื่อเป็นแนวทางที่สู่คำตอบต่อข้อสงสัยดังกล่าว บทความชิ้นนี้จึงพยายามค้นหาปัญหาที่ “แนวความคิดปรัชญาของเศรษฐกิจพอเพียง” “สังคมเมือง” “ชนชั้นกลาง” และ “ความมั่นคงของมนุษย์” มีอยู่ร่วมกัน อันได้แก่ ก) ความไม่เท่าเทียม ข) อาชญากรรม ค) สุขภาพ และ ง) สิ่งแวดล้อม และเมื่อทบทวนวรรณกรรมที่เกี่ยวข้องกับประเด็นดังกล่าวพบว่าปัญหาเหล่านี้ล้วนมีส่วนเกี่ยวข้องอย่างลึกซึ้งกับการยึดถือและดำเนินชีวิตภายใต้ระบบทุนนิยมบริโภคนิยมแบบเกินพอดี อีกทั้งปัญหาดังกล่าวล้วนเชื่อมโยงกันและกันอย่างหลีกเลี่ยงไม่ได้ ทางออกหนึ่งที่จะสร้างสมดุลให้กับปัญหาด้านความมั่นคงของมนุษย์และส่งเสริมการพัฒนาที่ยั่งยืนได้ก็คือการหล่อหลอมปรัชญาของเศรษฐกิจพอเพียงให้อยู่ในชีวิตประจำวันของชนชั้นกลางขึ้นไปที่อาศัยอยู่ในเมือง ควรจัดให้มีการสื่อสารที่มุ่งเน้นการรู้จักเห็นคุณค่าของผู้อื่น คุณค่าของทรัพยากรธรรมชาติ และคุณค่าของเงินอย่างถ่องแท้ ภายใต้การใช้ชีวิตอยู่อย่าง “รู้เท่าทันทุนนิยม”
