This research study on “A Guideline for Improving Efficiency in Enforcing the Anti-Participation in Transnational Organized Crimes Act B.E. 2556” has three objectives. First, to study measures for enforcing laws against transnational organized crimes in countries other than Thailand. Second, to assess the operations, impacts and difficulties in enforcing the Thai Act. Third, to make recommendations for increasing efficiency in enforcing the Act. The research used both quantitative and qualitative methods. It was found that enforcement of the Act had been efficient to a certain degree. The Act had been used as an instrument to prevent and suppress such crimes that caused great economic damage even though used on only a few cases as compared to the large number of transnational organized crimes. Moreover, the enforcement of the Act met legislative intent by convicting wrongdoers to long-term prison sentences. Recommendations are that policy emphasis on implementation of this Act is imperative. A manual should be produced for use in training practitioners involved in enforcement. Moreover, a central body should be set up to screen cases related to transnational organized crimes.
