บทคัดย่อ

บทความนำเสนอผลการศึกษาความเคลื่อนไหวทางการเมืองในอินเดียในช่วงการเลือกตั้งทั่วไปสู่ “โลกสภา” ครั้งที่ 17 ค.ศ. 2019 ซึ่งมีผู้มีสิทธิ์ 900 ล้านคน โดยประมวลข้อมูลจากหน่วยงานรัฐและข่าวออนไลน์ของสำนักข่าวอินเดีย พิจารณากิจกรรมทางการเมืองที่สำคัญของพรรคและผู้นำ ฐานเสียงและพันธมิตร และการช่วงชิงที่นั่ง ผลการศึกษาแสดงให้เห็นประจักษ์ถึงความโน้มเอียงทางการเมืองของมหาชนต่อพรรค Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) และการสนับสนุนให้ นาเรนดรา โมดี กลับเข้าสู่ตำแหน่งนายกรัฐมนตรีสมัยที่สอง เดินหน้าพัฒนาสังคมเศรษฐกิจตามอุดมการณ์ชาตินิยม มุ่งหมายจะเป็นรัฐบาลระยะยาว ในทางตรงกันข้าม ความพ่ายแพ้อย่างต่อเนื่องเกิดขึ้นอีกครั้งกับพรรคเก่าแก่ Indian National Congress (INC) ขณะที่พรรคอิสระต่าง ๆ พยายามกอบกู้หรือรักษาฐานเสียงในท้องถิ่น หลายพรรคที่มีฐานเสียงจากแถบรัฐเบงกอลตะวันตกถึงอินเดียใต้ไม่คล้อยตามอุดมการณ์และแนวทางของรัฐบาลกลาง ขณะเดียวกันความหลากหลายของผู้คนได้เข้าไปมีส่วนร่วมทางการเมืองกับพรรคต่าง ๆ มากขึ้น ในครั้งนี้กิจกรรมในสื่อสังคมออนไลน์ได้กลายมาเป็นสิ่งสร้างแรงกระเพื่อมทางการเมืองที่สำคัญในอินเดีย
